The 30 Funniest Christmas Movies of All Time (Part 3)

Table of Contents

Let’s discover the best movies for this 2022 Christmas time with our Family!

21. In Bruges (2008)

Martin McDonagh’s tragicomic masterpiece isn’t about Christmas, but it does give two hitmen (Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell) a reason to hide out after a mission gone bad. It’s all such a gift, the magic of the city, the performers’ deadpan delivery, and especially the witty dialogue.

22. Noelle (2019)

In a family comedy with Kendrick at the wheel, Bill Hader, Anna Kendrick, and Shirley MacLain put on the sleigh bells. Kendrick’s Noelle, who is Santa’s daughter, travels from the North Pole to Phoenix, Arizona, in search of her brother, who has decided against taking over the family’s Santa duties. Like so many holiday movies, this one has the potential to become cheesy, but its cast, laughs, and third-act twist keep it from falling into that category.

23. Better Watch Out (2016)

Independent filmmaker Chris Peckover creates a home invasion horror comedy that pays homage to Christmas favorites like Home Alone and babysitting scare fests like Halloween by drawing inspiration from John Hughes and, well, John Carpenter. The dark comedy, which infuses a gruesome good time with side-splitting humor, begins like any other invader thriller; however, things really start to get merry and bloody bright when the babysitter, played by Olivia DeJonge, discovers the truth about the teenage menace under her watch.

24. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

With this 1992 holiday favorite, Charles Dickens’ triple-ghost classic A Christmas Carol receives the puppet treatment. And while Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Kermit the Frog, and Michael Caine as Fozzie are undoubtedly the stars of the show, we can’t help but be most delighted with the charming vermin bookkeepers, also known as the street-corner caroling rats.

25. Deck the Halls (2006)

The character of Danny DeVito, a clueless family man who moves to the neighborhood, decks out his home with so many lights that it can be seen by astronauts, and in the process drives his neighbor, played by Matthew Broderick, insane. As the irate wives, Kristin Chenoweth and Kristin Davis co-star. And sure, Chenoweth does flex those pipes eventually.

26. Friday After Next (2002)

It might not be your cup of hot chocolate to watch Ice Cube’s third sequel if you are easily offended or are watching alongside someone who is. But if non-PC flames and herb smoke plumes are more your style, then set Friday After Next on hold. In this comedy, Ice Cube and Mike Epps’ characters, Craig and Day-Day, work as security guards to pay their rent and discover the true meaning of Christmas, drawing inspiration from its two predecessors’ charm.

27. Falling for Christmas

A Lindsay Lohan comeback is all we want for Christmas, and thanks to Netflix, our wish is coming true. Falling for Christmas, the first of a trilogy of “Lohanaissance” movies, has the well-known ginger in one of her most self-deprecating roles to date. Lohan excels in her role as Sierra Belmont, an heiress who is cared for by a muscular lodge owner after suffering from amnesia. Despite the slapstick comedy being hailed as the Citizen Kane of Netflix holiday movies, we’d say it’s more Overboard set in the middle of a snow globe.

28. Nothing like the Holidays

It would be simple to throw up your hands and declare that family is terrible because of interfering mothers, absent fathers, and acrimonious siblings. Family is really there for you during good times and bad, as well as during the holidays. A Puerto Rican family gathers for what appears to be their final Christmas together in Alfredo Rodriguez de Villa’s holiday comedy. This one is not only funny and full of life, but it also highlights the Hispanic community and the diverse culture that exists in Humboldt Park.

29. The Best Man Holiday

The cast of The Best Man comes together once more for a new installment of Malcolm D. Lee’s ensemble saga fifteen years after Lance (Morris Chestnut) weds Mia (Monia Calhoun) and Harper (Taye Diggs) makes a commitment to Robyn (Sanaa Lathan). But this time, instead of a wedding, our best friends gather together for the holidays in Lance and Mia’s lavish, photo-worthy residence in New Jersey. Here, laughter erupts and old rivalries are reawakened. Let’s hope the following chapter will be released soon!

30. Tokyo Godfathers

Animated? Yes. to children? Not at all. This is the essence: On Christmas Eve, three homeless people discover a baby in a dumpster; the events that follow forever alter their lives. This Christmas fable, which features a trans hero, a middle-aged addict, and a teen runaway in the driver’s seat, transports viewers on a crazy adventure through the snow-covered streets of Tokyo with a dash of magical realism from anime master Satoshi Kon.

Let’s enjoy your Christmas Holidays 2022 our list film.
